Once owned by the owners of a 1970’s high end textiles company, the Pinehurst Residence was completely decked out in flocked metallic wallpaper and shag carpet when our clients purchased the property.  Studio QUAD worked closely with our clients to create a modern clean space that strongly reflected their individuality and young growing family.  As busy professionals that love to entertain and host very large social gatherings it was important for the residence remodel to have large spaces, both indoors and out, that could accommodate parties upwards of 100 guests while still having spaces that felt intimate and family friendly.

Interior walls were moved, rooms were opened up and functions reassigned to better reflect the needs of the family. The kitchen was re-located in the heart of the home with direct connections to the family room, dining room, children’s play room, and the new large upper deck overlooking the yard and spectacular views to the west.  Materials used were sustainable, modern and clean – bamboo, slate and stainless-steel railings and details.  It was important for there to be a seamless transition between the inside and outside so materials and color palette were repeated.  The backyard is really the showpiece of the property with multiple outdoor conversation spaces, a water feature including fountain, stream and koi pond, a large fire pit, hot tub, outdoor kitchen, lush green garden with raised planters for vegetables, herbs, and flowers; not to mention the incredible views across the golf course toward the mountains.
